BERKELEY — A shooting on Tuesday night in the southwest part of the city killed a man, police said.
Officers responded about 9:30 pm to the reports that a man had been injured by gunfire in the 1100 block of Channing Way, police said. Emergency personnel arrived to find the man unresponsive and pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities have not identified him. Police said the man is in his 20s.
Berkeley police spokesman Officer Byron White said the department’s homicide unit is investigating the shooting. The homicide is the second one investigated by Berkeley police in 2022.
Police did not say whether they have identified any suspects or persons of interest in the shootings.
