A Sonoma County man fell to his death Sunday from a trail in Oregon, the Curry County sheriff’s office said.
Nam Ing, 56, a photographer from Penngrove, had been hiking with friends at Natural Bridges Viewpoint, on the Pacific coast 20 miles south of Gold Beach. He slipped from the trail and fell nearly 300 feet to the rocky beach.
One of the first emergency responders to arrive, an EMT with the Brookings Fire Department, made his way down to Ing and determined he had died.
The sheriff’s search-and-rescue team set up a rope system to lift the EMT and Ing’s body back to the top of the cliff.
